Favorite Goody Bag Item - 1 more question at bottom.

DD's 3rd birthday is in a few weeks, and I'm trying to figure out the goody bag situation. I'd rather give one or 2 large items to each kid, rather than a bag of little things. The kids will be between 2 - 3 y.o. If you recall any goody bag items or party favors you've received that your kids loved, please share! Thanks!

(Note: The party is at a gymnastics place, but we are not doing a theme).

I prefer small books. Anything that's food based is hit or miss for us since DS has food allergies.

Another vote for a book. Little golden book or something inexpensive like that. Most of the little junk gets tossed fairly quickly and I tend to give her one piece of candy and eat or toss the rest. She did recently get a slinky as a favor and is obsessed with it!

Not sure how much u want to spend
I'm not a huge fan of the little bags of junk

I've done
Crayola water color paint and construction paper from
$ store
Cute bath tub paint set from $ section of target

We've gotten
Kites
Disney store cups
Bowls with straw from target $ section and a little box of cereal (I thought that was cute and my kids love the bowls)

Re: Favorite Goody Bag Item or Favor?

in the past i've given:

books (I usually can find good deals between $5-$8)
play-doh sets (found them for ~$5 amazon)
melissa and doug water wows ($5 each at target)

those have all seemed to be hits. parents still have them/say their kids appreciated them.

Recently as we were leaving a bday place I saw a family hand personalized Sesame Street buckets with snack box and juice box to the party planner. Thought that one was great!

I'd also check out Michael's- they have a lot of cute things for under $5. Some crafty gifts, too, which I always like, coloring books, sticker books, crayons, etc.

For ds third birthday, we gave out shovel and pail with gold fish. No particular theme for that party. For his 4th, it was at an animal sanctuary place, so we gave out giant stuffed snakes, an animal book, and gummy bears. Parents told me the kids loved the snakes!

I hate junk and clutter.

I think crayons and coloring books are great. Hit up the dollar store, target and Michaels! $1 coloring books!!!

My son is having a peppa theme too. Where did you get the cups? Are they very girly looking?

A lot of the stuff is sooooo girly but my son is obsessed with peppa.

Thanks for all the responses! I ended up finding paint with water books and small coloring books that come with crazyons. I'm thinking of getting small buckets to put it all together. For those who did personalized items, where did you order from?

For her 3rd bday each child got a book of Melissa and Doug tattoos and a chocolate lollipop, for the 4th bday we did personalized crayons in Disney cups with some chocolate. I ordered the crayons off etsy.

Favorite Goody Bag Item - 1 more question at bottom.

I bought the cutest books at Dollar tree online. I think they were Sesame Street mini books and they came in a pack of 2. That cost $1
I gave them out in their class party last year because their school asked us to give goody bags. I thought it was ridiculous and that's all I could spend. You could always add to that and make a sesame street themed pack with coloring books or crayons, etc...

For DS' first bithday party, I gave each child attending a cute DIY Melissa and Doug vehicle that I got on Amazon for $4.50 each but I only had 10 kids attending so I thought that was ok.
