? for those who considered their labor to be short
labor with my second went much faster. I waited a little bit longer before going to the hospital. but once I was there it went super quick (was 9 cm dilated when I got there). I don't think I did anything differently to make the labor go quicker, but I didn't get an epi as soon (not sure if that made a difference). I found that the second time around, I tried to stay more in tune with my body and waited as long as possible before I started pushing. 3 pushes and he was out.

Re: ? for those who considered their labor to be short
Honestly I think that there is nothing you can do to ensure a quick labor. Every person is going to be different and every labor will be different. My first labor and delivery was the quickest and the easiest, unlike most of the other posters. I didn't push long with any of my three, but my first labor was textbook and my third was definitely not. I would just try to relax and not think about it. However it happens it happens! I exercised almost daily with all three, gained roughly the same amount of weight, went 3-5 days past my due date for each, and like I said, all three labors were very different.
