How much did you pay for your HS reunion?
DH's HS class is coming up on their 25th reunion. The party is being held at a NYC lounge/restaurant...includes drinks, buffet, DJ. Sounds like a fun night planned.
We were just surprised by the price tag...$ 150 per person.
Is this typical? Wondering if I'm just cheap and hesitant to spend $ 300 for us both to go?
He may need to fly solo on this one!!

That seems high!
We just had our 30th although I didn't go, it was $85 pp. It was held at The Irish Coffee Pub in East Islip.

My class never planned one for 10 years ......but my cousins have gone to 10/20/25 - they usually go solo, and pay at least $100 pp.
If its a NYC venue, $150 pp for open bar and dinner isn't bad

I organized the 10 and 20 ( ) omg 20. I had both in NYC at bar/lounges with private rooms to try to keep the cost down. The 20th we had it for around $75 pp, no dj (house dj for the whole place but we had a private room), appetizers and open bar but not top shelf. It was a great time.
I don't think either dh or i would attend an event for $150pp that wasn't a wedding.

My 10 and 20 were both about that. I went to the 10 but IMO does not need to be that much. A bar with some food and drinks. We did not need it at a catering type place.

My husband paid around $50 or $60 for his, it included food/ drinks at a local bar. They had a private room but just used the bar music/dj.

I think the last one I went to was $60 or$70. But that was for the cafeteria in our HS with a few trays of inedible appetizers and open bar. So $150 doesn't sound bad at all for the location!

Our 25th was about $90/pp, it was expensive and since DH and I graduated together in the same class it just felt like too much money for only a few hours. Ultimately, I'm glad we didn't go. Out of our class of 235 about 40 people showed up. Not worth it.

How much did you pay for your HS reunion?
Well, mine was free and I still didn't go! I went to a tiny private school and the school administration does a combined one- all the milestone ones at the same time, but it's in the school gym! They have it catered and have beer and wine and give tours of the school, you can see your old locker, etc. I actually find the concept pretty nice, if not fancy.
I wouldn't pay $150 to see a bunch of people I lost touch with for a reason.

Our 20th was $90pp in Huntington - open bar and some passed apps.
$150 doesn't sound high for NYC.
I would send him alone - all of the spouses that I saw at my reunion looked uncomfortable (unless they were friends with some of the other spouses).

My sister is in town for her 40th reunion this weekend.
Reunion Luncheon is only $45 per person.......
BUT
Airfare $337
Rental car $280
Hotel $578
Boarding for her dog back home, at least $300.
Total $1540
 
So.... you and your husband are getting a bargain at only $300.

$125 pp for my 20th (don't recall what my 10th was).
I thought it was obnoxiously expensive, but went anyway (and had a good time!).
