Re: Pearl Jam is playing Central Park
You have to enter a raffle through Global Citizen for free tickets or buy VIP tickets.
I'm just going to do the raffle. It'll be an abbreviated set compared to a regular PJ concert and this will be my 43rd time seeing them so I don't mind being a mile back on the lawn, chilling with friends.

Nice. We got VIP tickets when the Foo Fighters were headlining. I think it was only 50ish dollars.

Coldplay and Ed Sheeran, too?! I might need to purchase tickets- I tried to score free ones last year but no dice.

Hi,
I've never been so confused when trying to get concert tickets lol. So forget the VIP tickets...they're gone, and it looks like the ones available on StubHub are $550 for the cheapest.
And the raffle you mention above, WTH?! I registered on the Global Citizen website, and there are all these ridiculous things you have to do before your name is entered into the raffle...tweets and signing petitions and other BS.
Is there another way to get tickets? TIA

Nope, that's it. You have to complete the activities. The point is that you're supposed to be active about their cause, and in exchange they will give you raffle ticket.
In the past, everyone that I know that had entered the raffle did 'win' tickets. But maybe that would be different with Beyoncé being there this year.

Yeah, I signed up for Twitter just for this. I'm hoping to get tickets but if it doesn't happen, its no biggie! I'll still be out somewhere with whatever PJ buds of mine don't get tix!

I love this song too! If I'm not mistaken, PJ seems to play their more "popular songs" at festivals lol I wish I was going but I set my DVR. it's playing on msnbc at 3PM. They were on Stephan Colbert on wed. Night and sang Mind your manners and Rockin in the free world. I love them!!!

Re: Pearl Jam is playing Central Park
I would love it if they play Smile!!!
I would love it more if they play In My Tree but I wish for that at every show.
They probably won't lol...I accidentally saw part of the songs they soundchecked and closed it super fast. But I would love it if during this abbreviated set, they pull out something unexpected like Smile.

I'm so stoked.

I didn't get there until the speeches before Beyoncé - I had a conference to go to during the day and then opted for hanging at the bar with all my PJ friends before the show.
We were way in the back, but in all our years of going to shows together, this was our only chance to hang together AT a show (aside from the few who went in to VIP 2 or 3)
Security was loose! I walked in with a flask of Jameson's and no one did shit about it.
I thought PJ sounded incredible - especially Matt. He was ON. Ed didn't ramble much which was appreciated...lol. Unthought Known was a nice treat. Loved the dedication to Malala. Ed and Beyoncé doing Redemption Song was brilliant. If they release that as a single to benefit Global Citizen, it will raise loads of money from both fanbases. My husband and I slow danced to Imagine and that's something I never would have thought would happen - hearing Ed play that in Central Park, a stone's throw from The Dakota and Strawberry Fields. Speaking of Stone...nip tuck much? Eeek!
How did you dare up in the VIP section? I hope you had an incredible time and rocked out like a mofo!!!
