Re: Kelly Clarkson
I only take issue with people proclaiming her to be unhealthy or overweight/obese, or to assume she does not workout. WE are not her doctor. WE are not her trainer. WE do not know her weight or her size.
Say you think she looks horrible all you want, but to state that because she looks heavy she must be unhealthy isn't fair.

So is it okay to say that Kelly Clarkson doesn't look "fit", "toned", or "healthy"?
Why do you need to make it a negative context? Why do women need to tear other women down?
"If you have nothing nice to say...say nothing at all."
I didn't realize we could only say nice things on the Celebrity board.
I like Kelly Clarkson. I feel bad that she has gained so much weight. I know it is hard to lose. I know that she can look better and healthier.

Just because someone "looks" healthy doesn't mean they are. I'm much more concerned with someone's mental state than how they look. She seems happy, if a few rolls make you uncomfortable, I'm sorry I promise I won't shake my a$$ in your general direction. There are plenty of people who "look" healthy and aren't mentally healthy.

Re: Kelly Clarkson
I feel like there are some people who just aren't meant to be thin and she is one of them. Her much thinner was probably her dieting and working out constantly. Living that way, even though you look thin, makes you miserable. I'm one of those people. I'm an average size 12 who longs for the old size 6 body of my early 20's. But I don't want to eat like a rabbit and live my life at the gym - to me, that's no life.
I also feel like we ALL judge people in some way or another. It's just what we do. Whether its good or bad. Wow, look how defined her arms are. Or Wow, look at that ass. OR shit, she put on a lot of weight. Or Damn, does she eat? WE ALL DO IT. And if there's anywhere we can do it, it's here. Nobody said anything so horrifyingly terrible. Everyone is reacting to the major changes in her appearance and we can all agree that it's a drastic change.
Everyone has an opinion. And everyone should respect that opinion. I find it so annoying that you're not allowed to be anything but peppy and positive about everything. That isn't true to life. Everyone is just stating their opinion. It's not ______ Shaming (insert whatever term you like there), it's just observations

I guess I just don't see the purpose in publicly and repeatedly bashing people's looks. What do you gain from it? Is it really fun for you? People are so quick to say - oh she's fat, oh she looks manly, she's ugly, he's ugly - why would you do that? Why wouldn't you keep that opinion to yourself? I see some posters that never post anything nice - its just repeated tearing down of people's looks. What's the point?
Criticizing fashion is fun, being mean isn't. I love the blog Gofugyourself.com. They poke fun at celebrities and fashion but not in a mean spirited way.

Kitten I get what you are saying and that is why I do not frequent this board that often.
To each their own. I don't ride a high horse. I just personally don't care to comment on a woman's appearance in that way. It just isn't worth it to me to even unwittingly perpetuate the idea that women should be judged first and foremost by their bodies.
I'd rather look at Clint's son anyway.

I agree no one knows her blood pressure or cholesterol or A1C however I stand by my point that if she continues this path of putting on weight she is at greater risk. Nothing to argue. Similar to if someone continues to smoke as they age they will put themselves at greater risk for disease. I never said one mean thing about her or shamed her.

Re: Kelly Clarkson
Anyone with eyes can see that she gained a lot of weight.
Everyone knows that one traditional American standard of beauty (with which some of us take issue) views this as "terrible looking."
Pointing out how bad she looks just seems gratuitous. Unnecessary. Adds nothing except insight into those who dig in. She doesn't put herself out there as a model of any kind. She hasn't asked to be evaluated.
i have heard Reba MacIntyre interviewed about how cruel people have been since she had her baby and how its hurt her family. We don't know whether she's healthy or sick. We don't know anything except hat our eyes tell us, and it just doesn't seem like it would be worth commenting so negatively about something so negative and so obvious.
I happen to think she's attractive, talented beyond belief, and happy in her life.

I love that jacket - It looks like Chanel - lol I think it's an adroable outfit, I'd totally wear ........and I normally LOATHE her clothing and cringe - I agree the jeans are too tight - but the over all look is adorable.
She doensn't hvae to look good, she doesn't have to be thin, or pretty or anything else b/c she's TRULY incredibly talented - The girl can SING - and she can do it LIVE. She's the real deal .........and she's already proven herself as an artist - No need for everyone to think she looks 'hot' for her to sell herself.
She was never really pretty. I thnk she's adorable, but I love her. She can do no wrong in my book -
