Can you go to Bahia? I thought is was very beautiful & cultural. Great night life & interesting vibe due to African influences (at least that's what I remember). Loved street music & dancing.
Rio is interesting: lots to see (all the typical touristy stuff you see when you look at a brochure of Brazil).
Beaches are wild there. I went a while ago... Very poor and very rich people all together making for an interesting experience. Lots of crime. I'd only carry a few dollars in my bra.

Been to both. Sao Paulo is more urban. Rio was nice but it is a high crime area. I remember waking up early to take pictures and the hotel stuff was adamant that I not go alone to the beach - especially that early.
I had fun in both cities but liked Rio more.

This will be last minute so no beaches. It's 75 degrees. I'm torn btwn rio and Napa lol!
