What (if anything) do you make of this situation?
I just called my dog's vet's office to order some medication. I stated my name (first and last) and the woman who answered asked me to spell my last name (NOT a common last name). Then she said are you "Sue"____, or "Jane" ____? I am Sue and DH's ex-wife is Jane (and her first name is not a common name either, so it is almost impossible that there is another Jane ____). I know for a fact that Jane never used the same vet as me in the past (it is not close to the town we live in and I know what vet she uses or at least used to use). But, now I'm thinking that she has started using the same vet as me. And it's freaking me out a bit, although I can't quite figure out why. Jane hates me (and DH) with a passion and I almost feel like somehow she is stalking me by using the same vet (not that that is a very rational thought - but it's just creeping me out). Or that somehow, she could do something to harm my dog by using the same vet. Am I being completely irrational or is the a big "ick"factor here?

I think you're overthinking it and overreacting (easy for me to say/think) but Only you would know.
Do you have some crazy history with her or is she off her rocker?

No - we live in the same town now, but the vet is pretty far away from our town. I have been using the same vet for years and continued to do so, even though I no longer live very close. She never lived near where the vet is located

Yes, she is off her rocker - for example, she has called me, screaming at me and calling me every nasty name in the book - all because I called her son (my SS) for a 1 minute conversation to ask him for the location of someplace I had to drive him the next day (how dare I interfere with HER time with him, was her basic argument)

I think you have valid reason to be concerned, I would too. If the vet is not local to you (or her), I would also find it very odd that she would wind up at the same vet as you. I personally would have a big issue with that, for ex, your dog goes in for surgery, and they call her by accident instead of you. KWIM? I don't think you are overreacting if this is someone who might try to harass you.

Does she know you use this vet? Does she even have a pet of her own? I don't think she can do anything to your pet. But it is a little stalker-ish.

Yes, she has a dog. And it is very possible that my SS might have just casually mentioned the name at some point, (like happened to say, "Oh, we took Sue's dog to the vet the other day" and she would ask what vet it was)

sorry you did post that. I know it might be hard to think otherwise but I think you are making more of it than it might be. I travel over 10 miles to see my vet. The reason she might have decided to go to that vet, I don't know or perhaps she used them in the past and you are only discovering it now.
I believe you pet is safe.

Like I said in my OP, I know for a fact that she never used that vet before - 100% sure of that. I know I might be over reacting and I appreciate you're opinion and am happy to hear that you think I don't have any thing to worry about. It just gives me a weird feeling to know that all of a sudden, after years of using a vet that is local to our town, she would out of the blue, suddenly decide to use a vet that is no where near her home and just "happens" to be the same vet I have been using for 20+ years. I find it hard to believe it's just a coincidence.

He thinks it's strange, but when it comes to her, he pretty much tries to ignore everything that has to do with her. So his response was pretty much, "yeah that's strange" and he has no idea why she would do that either. And, he's much better at letting things roll of his back, so it's not something he would give much thought to after our initial conversation, unless I bring it up again.

I would call the vet and make sure they only have your information on file for your dog. There is another dog at our vet with the same name and last name as our dog so they verify our address when we call. Maybe they can put a note on your folder to confirm they are speaking to you or your husband.
