Selling clothes at a yard sale question
If you have sold kid's clothes at a yard sale, what is the best way to do it? By piece? Tell them to fill a shopping bag for a set price? I want to get rid of it but would also like to get a fair price for it. There is so much clothes....down side of having a girl I guess.

Re: Selling clothes at a yard sale question
This is a great question...I have SO much clothes that I want to sell and we are planning to have a yard sale in June. I was thinking of separating the clothing by size. This is as far as I got with it LOL. I am hopeful that people will be interested in buying the "lots" of clothes as opposed to individual pieces (as there is just SO much). I guess if the price is right, people will buy in bulk.

Separating the clothes by size is a great idea, especially if you have a lot. You could just put them in bins or boxes labeled by size and put a price per piece on the box too (.50, 1.00, etc). You could also let them fill a bag for a certain price, but be prepared that some people might really stuff those bags full.

I would probably sell it in lots by size, with the exception of certain expensive pieces which I would sell as one offs.

Re: Selling clothes at a yard sale question
We did this a few yrs ago. We had clothes in boxes and put a sign out for the cost per item. Then at the end of the day we lowered the cost per item.

Re: Selling clothes at a yard sale question
I already have it sorted by size/season so guess I will start off with pricing per piece and see if people approach me to make a deal on bulk purchases.
I could have gone on an extra vaca with what I must have spent on her clothes the past few years...a really nice vaca!

Re: Selling clothes at a yard sale question
Maybe price bins and do $x or 5 for $x. Keep in mind ppl want stuff for pennies and will haggle and you might not get much. Good condition name brand and gap/ Gymboree stuff is put on ebay.
