Re: Feb Break - Woodloch or Villa Roma
I have been to both. I'm actually heading to Woodloch tomorrow for the weekend and I'm debating between Villa Roma and Minerals for Spring Break. Let me try to break it down for you as best I can. I can not speak to dining rooms or the hotel rooms at either resort. At Villa Roma we use a timeshare so I have a full kitchen. The rooms are pretty dated, but they're spacious and clean. I have eaten at the diner/cafe there. It's ok, nothing to write home about, but fine. At Woodloch we opt out of the meal plan and stay at the Springs, again with a kitchen. The units are very modern, clean and spacious. I have seen the menus from both resorts and walked through at meal times. It looks like Woodloch does a better spread. At Woodloch you gave go-carts, indoor jungle gym, arcade, arts and crafts, snow tubing, ice skating, and games/activities. They have a very nice indoor pool area. It was actually just redone because of a mudslide in the fall. They have family friendly shows at night. Villa Roma has an awesome gym full of jump houses, bowling, skiing, snow tubing, ice skating, BINGO for money, arcade, arts and crafts, and games/activities. They have a basic, but adequate indoor pool. They do have shows at night, but they usually start at 10:00pm, which is way too late for my kids. So overall, even though they're similar on paper, Woodloch is just better. The downside is, it's also a crap load more expensive. I can guarantee your kids will have a blast at either resort. My kids think they're both great. If your getting a good price for Woodloch, then I would go with that. If Woodloch is a ton more, then Villa Roma is fine.
