NYC Teachers....loss of Feb Break
Bummer!
WSJ says we lose the last 3 days of winter break. Would have been nice if they told us first before we read it in the paper.
ETA: That won't even help me because in my school we give the English Regents in January of 11th grade.

This happened one year when I worked in Westchester and we lost so many days due to snow storms. They cut spring break to a 3 or 4 day weekend and we had to come in the rest of the week. People who had plans had to rearrange them....and would be docked bad if they didn't show.
I haven't heard about this until just now. I work in a Charter school..but I think they will be following what the DOE does in regards to making up time. Thankfully I'll be on maternity leave then. lol

If NYC has 182 days this year that means we already have 2 days built in. Why do we have to make up four days then and not 2? Along with making June 4th an instructional day they should take ONE day from Feb. vacation. Although why are they taking a clerical half day away? We need those.

Completely agree. Take bq day from the kids, keep the half day.
