Would you change DC preschool mid-year
I have twin boys that are 3yrs. I just switched schools with them beginning of January. I told them the original school ended when we had Christmas party & now go to new school. Honestly, they are well spoken & didnt even question it. When in doubt switch!!

Don't even think about it. Change. DS is in private preK & loves it. I'd change his elementary school if he hated it.
Exactly this!

Re: Would you change DC preschool mid-year
I am in the exact same scenario. I have twin 4 yr olds and I am very disenchanted with their preschool. But I am so worried about a mid year change and they go into Kindergarden in September. So I a grateful for all the inputs shared.
My kids are very outgoing so I am not concerned about the social sideof the transition but wonder about the rightness of uprooting them.

Re: Would you change DC preschool mid-year
Last week the teacher pulled me aside (she was able to come in one day) and gave me her home phone number and cell phone number. We spoke for a few minutes and she seemed sincere that she hopes that we can work together in making a more positive experience. She assured me that she really tries to make connections with the children and that she will open the classroom to me whenever I would like to come in. I feel a bit better about that and last week my daughter had better days. (They are probably at this point making sure to give her extra attention). I still feel the direction was making wrong decisions in handling the situation. Since then, my DD has been out all week from the snow. I think I am going to stick it out at this point, but I have to be honest it is a very hard decision. Part of the reason I decided this, is the other school that the school district would be able to transfer my child to had about 12 citations on the NYS Office of Children and Family Services website, where my daughters current school only has one.
I appreciate all of your input and I hope that I am making a good decision...

How do you look that up? On the website and don't see where...

Hi the web address is ocfs.ny.gov you click on find a childcare, the search for childcare. Then you put in the name of school.. It will say all of the things they have reports on and if the have been fixed or are still open.

Re: Would you change DC preschool mid-year
We are still going around and around on this decision. Everyone is telling me to just suck it up it is just for 5 mo ths but I have my doubts about what is being said to my kids when they are at school. And also now that tje relationship is so tense how will we deal with it if an issue arises.
Going to talk to a child psychologist today and get thwor i puts.
So out of sorts over this.

It is prek. Worst case scenario, if it doesn't work, you can pull her out. Good luck!
