Cough with no other symptoms
Anyone else's DC have a terrible cough but no other symptoms? DD (3 1/2) woke up Saturday morning with a cough. She was totally fine all day Friday. The cough wasn't dry either it was broken from the start. No fever or other symptoms really. She's drinking and eating. She threw up mucus 3 times earlier from coughing fits. I called the Dr and told them her symptoms and asked what other cough medicine I could give her bc the Zarbees wasn't working. They said sometimes it's normal for them to throw up the mucus. Her breathing is fine and today developed a runny nose. I usually don't take DD to the dr unless she has a fever and is off. But all it is really is a cough. Should I take her in?

Cough with no other symptoms
Nope. Probably from a post nasal drip. The cough is good cause it is getting what is needed to come up.

Sounds like post nasal drip. Best thing to combat is saline spray, humidifer & Benadryl to dry her up. My oldest suffers & when his post nasal drip is bad, he will continue to bring up the mucus when he coughs

We are going through the same exact thing. Took DC to the dr and they couldn't find anything wrong so it must just be post nasal drip. It's frustrating and I feel so bad for DC but there isn't too much that can be done.

Re: Cough with no other symptoms
I just posted about this last week. Dd has had a cough like that for 2 months! Not one other symptom. The drs keep telling me allergies, but she's never had them before. I've been giving Claritin and running the humidifier every night. I think I'm finally seeing a slight change

Use Vicks and a humidifier. Helped a ton with us.

I don't think anything more than use a humidifier and Vicks and the zarbees. Me and my DD (who is 2) have had a post nasal drip all season pretty much. Her pediatrician reccomended children's Zyrtec before bed to help break up the congestion.

Cough with no other symptoms
DD had this back in November and it cleared up after a few weeks. And now it's back again. For us it's usually a post nasal drip which is what it sounds like your DC has. I give Benadryl and Zarbees at bedtime to help with sleeping. It's always worse with laying down so that's how I know it's a drip (plus no other symptoms). With her bout in November I did take her to the doctor twice because I was worried about bronchitis.

Re: Cough with no other symptoms
So her cough is worse today. I called the dr and they said to bring her in bc there is alot of bronchitis and pneumonia going around. Perfect right before Christmas. I feel so bad for her.
