DS occasionally wakes up in the middle of the night and it's so hard to get him back to sleep. Does anyone else go through this? What do you do to get them back to sleep?

A lot of times yes but there are also a lot of times he doesn't. If DH goes in the room when he wakes up he can usually soothe him into falling back asleep by rubbing his back. If I go in there he immediately stands up in his bed and wraps his arms and legs around me and will not let go until he is in my bed with me. At 3am who am I to argue with a 2 year old? He usually ends up in our bed sleeping comfortably while DH and I get a knee to the back all night.

At 2, DD still woke on occasion. Usually if she was overtired or off her routine. I hated bringing her in my room bc sometimes she would toss and turn for hours and no one got any sleep. There came a point that I just stopped going to her (unless she's sick) and she would eventually go back to sleep. Since I've been sticking to that, now at 2.5 she doesn't wake any more.

almost always gets up during the night. sometimes just for us to cover her and other nonsense things. We just started to let her CIO and it worked pretty well after a few hard nights.

My DS is almost 3 and will have nights here and there where he wakes. Most nights we can get him right back.

Last night he slept through but was having crazy dreams so he was talking in his sleep and kicking.

Nope. Some nights he wakes for a few mins for comfort then goes back right away. CIO never worked for him. I just deal with it now lol

The majority of the time he does. He usually just wakes up if he's cold (his room is chilly and he tends to kick off the covers). The past couple of nights though - he's been up a lot - and up early for the day.

I try to keep his schedule/routine as normal as possible and it usually passes.

My older DS - we would just bring into bed with us but, DS 2 has no interest.

My dd was a great sleeper with a few nornal hiccups along the road and a few regressions. Since she turned 2 her sleep has been atrocious. At one point she was fighting bedtime and naps plus waking super early. Then she was fine for a few weeks.
Then she started waking in the middle of the night and having a hard time going back to bed. And waking super early. When she had a hard time falling back to sleep i would try to rub her back. Or just sit in the rocking xhair until she fell asleep. And at some point tell her she has to go to bed and mommy wants to go to bed. And some nights when its bad i sleep onher floor lol i dont take her in my bed anymore because she started waking earlier and earlier and telling me she wants to come in my bed
And now shes done with her naps is a hot mess by 530 and goes to bed by 7-730. But she wakes some nights still wanting to come in my bed. I refuse and tell her she has to go to bed.

The best thing is to keep her schedule/ routine the same. Biggest peoblem i have is my dh not following the schedule that she needs.
