as much as they want! i breastfed the first month but when i transferred to formula i think i started with 4 oz and went from there

DS is 5 wks old. When he gets bottles (I breastfeed, but he also gets bottles), he's taking 4 ounces. Our pediatrician goes by the "as much as he wants, whenever he wants" belief.

DD always ate like a bird. At that point, about 2 oz. Mind you at 12 mos she was still drinking less than 6 oz!

This! She eats between 3-5, but mostly 4.
We start with 2 oz breast milk bottle and then formula for whatever she wants on top of that.
Our PED says same thing

My ped says in a day, most newborns need 2.5oz per pound of body weight, in a 24 hour period. But that is just a guideline, obviously.

As much as they want. There is no set amount so please please just feed them how much they will take.
