How many ounces does/did your 1 month old take
DD is 4 weeks...taking 4 oz per feeding now but sometimes I think she wants more. Is 5 oz too much for a 4 week old? She is tiny..weighed 6 lbs 4 oz at birth so she is probably not even 8 lbs yet..Just afraid to overfeed her

If she seems hungry, give her more. If she doesn't want it, she won't drink it. I don't remember 1 month, but by 6 weeks, DD was drinking 6 oz. at a time, so upping your daughter's bottle by an ounce seems fine.

If she's hungry, go ahead and feed her. At that age, you can not overfeed her. Many babies go through several growth spurts in the first few months- so from time to time that could be it too.

Give it to her...ds was the same way. he was taking 4-5 oz, then by 6 weeks, he was up to 6, and has remained at 6oz- he is 2 months today

I thought the same thing, Constantine will be 5 weeks tomorrow and he eats 5-6oz. I started making 5oz bottles like 2 weeks ago. Sometimes when he's done and still is hungry I'll make 1 more oz. I was told you can't overfeed a newborn. He left the hospital at 6lbs 12oz and at his 3 week appt was 9lbs 12oz. The dr said everything is normal. Make her another ounce if shes still hungry, she'll be fine!

If she wants it, let her eat it. She might be going through a growth spurt , next week she could be back down to 4oz or she might stay at 5oz. She'll let you know when she is done.

at 4 weeks DS was ranging from 3.5-5oz, every 2.5-3 hours. He is going to be 7wks on Tuesday and he is now drinking 4.5-6oz every 2.5-3 hours.
