Re: If you have a DH that works crazy hours/weekends...
We do everything without DH. Like the previous poster said, it feels like being a single parent. That's the main reason I'm one & done

If you have a DH that works crazy hours/weekends...
Yes definately. My DH isn't home until after 10 each night and works one day on the weekend, every weekend. Sometimes he just needs some relaxation time on the one day he's off. Well do family outings every few weeks.
I do a lot with my kids during the week (beach, spray park, playground, zoo, museums etc.. My brother tags along most of the time to help with the kids. He's great help and so thankful he's around and willing to help out.

Yes we do a lot without DH. We also take care to plan things when he's off on a weekend so we can do stuff as a family.

Re: If you have a DH that works crazy hours/weekends...
DH has only one day with us as a family - Sundays. We try to plan as much as we can on Sundays with him, but most of the time it's not possible. So...90% of the time DS & I are doing things without him. We have to...as much as we don't want to, it just has to be.

My DH's schedule rotates and his hours switch weekly from 8-4 and 12-8. Since he only has weekends off every couple of months we try to do family stuff then. I don't not plan stuff on the other weekends though. It's harder now that my DD started school. On DHs 12-8 weeks she doesn't get to see him at all.

When possible we try to schedule when DH is off for things like pumpkin picking but I do a lot with the girls without him, including sometimes extended family trips. I don't want them to miss out. I do a lot with my sister and her son.

Re: If you have a DH that works crazy hours/weekends...
My DH works 12-15 hour days more often than not, weekends included. He has a maximum of 4 days off per month. He travels quite a bit as well. I do try to wait and schedule certain activities for days I know he'll be around, bc he hates missing out on so much. But we both agree that having DD miss out on anything bc of his schedule would be worse, so I do a lot with her by myself or with my family.
