What do you pack for lunch?
Pasta salad, mini bagels w/ cream cheese, hot food like ravioli in a funtainer (keeps food warm for a whilie). Celery and dip (could do PB also), applesauce, fruit, crackers and cheese. We have a "yumbox" (bento style lunchbox), so I pack a lot of little things that easily make up a meal.

Ah, my son calls it a 'chocolate sandwich' - You'd never know the kid was Italian - that's actually a great idea, but I'd have to hide the nutella from myself !!!

Wow! Does you DC eat all of this? I pack a main course (sandwich, Mac and cheeee, bagel) and one "dessert" (pretzels, yogurt, choc pudding etc) and in lucky if she finishes the sandwich lol
She tells me she runs out of time

Re: What do you pack for lunch?
My DS is still very young but I try to give him a wide variety and he's (so far) a pretty good eater.
For daycare lunches I do stuff like, leftover pasta with meat sauce, Dr. Praeger's broccoli or zucchini pancakes, grilled cheese I make in the morning fast and wrap in foil, turkey sandwich, leftover chicken breast with veggies, leftover turkey burger. Mac and cheese in a thermos. When he's older bagels and cream cheese, cut up hot dog in a thermos. Those kinds of things.
Snacks are apple sauce, or blueberries, or some fruit, yogurt, cheerios. I also try to do a side dish like some broccoli, zucchini, slices of cheese or cheese sticks. I do a lot of leftovers as lunches, makes my life easier! I also try to plan the week's lunches on Sunday to manage my time best. And I do no cutting into flowers and writing his name and blah blah. The food goes in the container in his lunchbox, the end.

Believe it or not, he eats most of it. He is not a big breakfast eater so he is usually very hungry by noon when daycare serves lunch. They get 30 min to eat. Sometimes parts of certain things will come home, but he always has at least a little of everything.

I try to stick to this design, too.
I pick one from each category.
For instance, today was:
ham and swiss cheese stick go-gurt type thing (I froze the night before) blueberries cucumber slices fruit loops (I send in a naughty cereal as a snack/treat) juice box gold fish yogurt raisins
The goldfish and raisins came home. I *think* everything else was eaten. Haha!

Re: What do you pack for lunch?
My ds is really picky. School is nut-free so peanut butter and nutella (both things he likes) are both out. Easiest quick lunch is the single serving bowls of cheerios. He gets the milk at school. Add an apple, cookies or a granola bar, and a drink. Occasionally, I make English muffin pizza and wrap in foil.
