Cruise questions ( royal Caribbean especially)

Have you ever used a babysitter on board? At night in your room?

Do you do the drink package? Can you share 1 package or will they only give you 1 drink at a time? Do you know how much frozen drinks are ?

Is there wifi on board! Free?

I'll look on cruise critic later just wondering here!

Thanks

Re: Cruise questions ( royal Caribbean especially)

I have never done the drink package, but I know people who have. One drink at a time . Without the package, frozen drinks were between $6-$8. There is wifi aboard, but it is not free and pretty expensive.
No info about babysitters, sorry.
Enjoy your cruise!

We didn't buy the drink package. They have different packages. We don't drink lot of soda or alcohol so it wasn't worth it for us. Some alcohol packages have limits on how many drinks you can get per day. You get one drink at a time with unlimited packages. They have wifi but very expensive and we didn't use it. No idea on baby sitting as we didn't use it. Go to www.cruisewithgambee.com to see drink menus. This is a blog that has useful info. You will find the menus with pricelist on the Royal caribbean site too but I found it easy to read on the blog.

Cruise critic is great. The info I found on there was so helpful. It's worth your time to register on the site and ask questions. I went on my first cruise few months ago and found it so helpful to see the cruise compass for my ship which has the daily schedule and gave me an idea of what to expect everyday.

Haven't done the drink package - the drinks were pretty reasonably priced (like stated above, in the $6-8 range, and they would have specials during the day when it would be 2 for 1) and I figured with the days in port when we'd be off the ship, it just wasn't worth it. I do like to drink wine with dinner and you can order a bottle and they will keep it for you, to have each night, until you finish it.

And wifi - not free and pretty expensive

sorry - no experience with the babysitting service

Usually with the drink packages, everyone over 21 in the Room must get one so there's no sharing.

We have not but the kids have gone into the kids club and after 10pm you pay a certain amount per hour.

Do you do the drink package? Can you share 1 package or will they only give you 1 drink at a time? Do you know how much frozen drinks are ?

Never did it but friends did. If you have 2 people in the room, both have to get it. No sharing. Not sure about one drink at a time but frozen drinks are about $10 give or take with the gratuity. Gratuities are included if you get the drink package. On Allure it is $385/pp/per week.

Is there wifi on board! Free?

Yes there is wifi. No it is not free. I think it is $25.95 per day or they have weekly packages.

I just called royal Caribbean about wifi because I was curious... Explorer of the Seas is 65 cents per minute or you can buy packages. 60 minutes is $35 , 150 mins is $75, etc. it's a rip off. The soda/ bottled water/speciality coffee package is $ 180 a person and both people in the room have to get it.

I think this used to be the case but now it is not mandatory for everyone in the cabin to purchase a package.

Re: Cruise questions ( royal Caribbean especially)

We where on Liberty of the seas back in April. We loved it. I got the drink package. My DH did not. I thought it was worth it but we had 25 people in our group & we drank a lot. My cousin used the baby sitter 2 nights & had a great experience.
