I fainted
I had a horrible fainting episode at work yesterday but luckily sat down and told my Dr and receptionist in time. I felt all the blood leave my head and lost vision. Luckily, I was in a safe area and felt okay after drinking iced tea that my boss rushed over. I still didn't tell my office I am pregnant so I sat through lecture after lecture about how I am too skinny and need to eat better lol Thing is, I ate peanut butter on toast and a banana with some milk in the morning so I ATE. I told my RE this morning and she said it's bc I am not drinking enough water and my BP dropped. I have very low BP so I am thinking this was it. I barely have been drinking water with the MS I was having and DS's schedule is so crazy with baseball and end of 2nd grade activities.
What are some ways that helped you remember to drink water? I was thinking one of those life factory bottles to refill and bring with me?

Re: I fainted!!
So scary. I heard that your BP drops in early pregnancy so if it's low to begin with, that could totally be why. How about a water bottle like this? I LOVE this thing because you can put fruit in it and it flavors the water so nice- with nothing artifical. I love putting grapefruit in it!!

I fainted!!
Glad to hear you're okay! I always carry a bottle with me. I can only drink it very cold, so I leave it in the freezer for a 1/2 hr or so and then take it out. Then I drink it all before it gets warm and do it again. I drink a lot of water, but still need to drink more!

Re: I fainted!!
I fainted on the train when I was around 14-16 weeks, I don't remember exactly. Totally scared the crap out of me - but my doctor reassured me it's normal with some women especially early in pregnancy. I have low blood sugar in general and have vertigo. Things my doctor told me to do:
- Make sure I have protein throughout the day along with any carb, etc. that I have. - Try to snack throughout the day. I make sure not to go more than an hour without some kind of snack - could be as little as a piece of fruit or some almonds - If I'm traveling or moving around a lot, make sure before I do that that I eat something - Drink water - Be careful as it starts to get warmer and listen to your body. That was one of the reasons I fainted - it got really hot in the train, blood sugar was low, etc.
For drinking water, I bought one of these and carry it with me everywhere I go at work and traveling to and from work. I try and get through atleast 2 while I'm at work, and usually I'll have another one or more when I'm home.

I haven't fainted since then, but have been very conscious about keeping mindful of the above.
OH and also, if you're taking trains or anything like that, make sure you sit.

I fainted!!
I have the same problem and water actually makes my ms worse, especially if it's not ice cold. I have to bring a big jug, exactly the amount of water needed in a day and I try to make sure I drink the whole thing.
Putting lemon in it also helps a lot and makes it more tolerable. But still my water intake is just plain awful. I clearly need to take my own advice. So happy to hear you're ok!

How scary! I'm a big fan of the camelbak straw bottles. I take one with me everywhere and my two year old will drink from it too so I don't have to bring two separate waters everywhere.

I always carry a bottle of water with me. I refill when I'm at work from the cooler. We have been buying so many packs of poland spring bottles from BJ's we should buy stock, but if we're leaving for more than an hour, I grab at least 2 before we leave.

I fainted!!
I never fainted, but I would get REALLY dizzy... OB said the same, waterand fluctuating blood sugar were the culprit. Small meals and water did the trick.

I have kidney stones so I have to drink a ton of water too and trust me, the infuser motivates me to drink so much more. I even buy frozen fruit- like peaches, berries, etc- and it keeps the water nice and cold while tasting yummy. Endless possibilities!

I fainted!!
I have a problem with eating - I'm so used to waiting and pushing my lunch off to as late as possible, that at noon when I start getting hungry I'm usually still in the middle of a project then 1 rolls around and I'm feeling sick because I didn't eat soon enough. That's something I have to work on.

I couldn't imagine fainting on a train!!! So glad you are okay! That is great advice. Every time I get up too fast or get out of my car, I get dizzy so it sounds like my BP is low. I'll def go for the snacking before any big procedures or before walking a lot. Thanks hun

I fainted
I never drank water! So bad, I know, but I was a full time teacher and you can't just go to the bathroom whenever you want! Now, I am in a computer lab with lots of backup. Here's what I do: I got those little kid bottles of Poland Spring, the chubby kind. I line them up, number them with magic marker, and drink them as I go along. I have to have lemon in my water for some reason, so I am always adding that and BINGO- I am drinking my water finally! I also drink seltzer at home. with lemon or lime. Oh my poor teeth......

I fainted
I fainted 3x while pregnant. Once in each trimester. On the train, the street and at home. My bp was 80/50. It is normally 90/60. I kept asking the dr if I was alive. She told me to drink sugary drinks. I drank a lot of vitamin water and towards the end juice. Seemed to help a lot more than just water. Also I snacked constantly.

I fainted
i carry a 24 oz bottle always -- and finish one by noon, one by the time i leave work & one at night (i've been subbing this with selzer at night which COUNTS AS WATER per my previous diets LOL)
for low BP eat more salt!! DW and i have both been told this by cardiologists. Also, the fruit infused water will help keep your sugars up.
be careful of heat/crowds too sometimes that causes people to pass out and since it's summer this could be worse!
my mom fainted while pregnant and i have vaso vagul and low BP so i am really scared that I will pass out. But i can just blame my normal reason- people talking about medical stuff. the worst part is that it gets worse every time and people think i am having a seizure bc i shake....
how many weeks r u again?

I was really bad with drinking water too - I got those large cups with a straw but I would never get up to refill it so I found it kinda pointless. Now I buy the 1.5L poland spring bottles and make sure I drink that during the day. Then once I get home I make sure to fill my cup w/ straw a few times and drink that before bed.
