I wouldn't go crazy. As long as you have a day or two of diapers and food you will be fine. It's not a prison sentence. You will be able to leave the house.

List of what to have when the baby comes home.
I found it helpful to have a stash of stamps and baby themed thank you cards. I also made sure my addresses were totally up to date. Writing thank yous and sending birth announcements aren't fun but it's at least easier if you're prepared!

THIS I agree, you are tired and busy and this is the last thing you want to sit and do. Same for birth announcements. Have address labels ready if you are doing them.
Also, if you know when you are having baby, I would stock the fridge with prepared foods you can defrost, heat n eat.
Like PP said you will be able to get out (or have DH get out) to get things, but it is always nice to be prepared

Thanks...I know it is not a prison sentence...this will be my second...But I don't really have any help and I don't really want to take a newborn to the store. DH won't get time off and I really don't trust anyone to stay with a brand new baby! Plus, I will be having a bris at my house 5 days after I come home!

Re: List of what to have when the baby comes home.
I made a lot of prepared meats: meatballs, sausage, shredded chicken, chicken cutlets, breaded chicken, grilled chicken, salisbubry steak. We have yet to use the meals (we've only been home for 3 days), but they will definitely be helpful. I would not want to prep meals at this point and clean up.

List of what to have when the baby comes home.
A few more would be towels, wash cloths, rectal thermometer. Also a carrier or sling can come in handy in the beginning too!

Yes and also a swing or bouncer chair set up, or preferably both.

Yes and also a swing or bouncer chair set up, or preferably both. Boppy pillow and a baby blanket. If your nursing make sure you have Lansinoh cream and Breast pads for bra. If bottle feeding make sure all your bottles and pacifiers are sanitized and ready to go. Formula.

This is a great suggestion since you will be getting a lot of gifts when the baby arrives!
