bruised tooth
DD bumped her mouth at the playground 2 1/2 weeks ago and this week her tooth started to get slightly discolored. She's going to be 3 next month. I looked on line and it seems that if a tooth was going to be bruised now is the time it would show up and that it wont get worse after a month and it should go back to normal after 6 months. Its not loose and it doesn't bother her. We are trying to figure out when we can take her to the dentist but does anyone have any experience or advice about this? Its one of those things that bothers me and doesn't bother her at all.

DS did the same thing but on one of his trucks.
It turned black for a while, then went back to normal. I don't even remember which tooth it was.
DHs cousin (a dentist) said it is normal. Teeth bruise just like any other body part.

My 4.5 yr old hit his 2 front teeth on the floor around Christmas. I brought him immediately bc he was in pain. I was told if they turned colored I needed to bring him back immediately bc that's a sign that the nerve was damaged. Thankfully it didn't happen. If I was you, I would bring immediately

I'd have a dentist look at it immediately. There could be things you can't see, like an abscess under the gum, which can infect the tooth.

Yes, I would have it checked out to make sure. If the bruising goes away then there probably wasnt any trauma. However, if the tooth gets discolored, like blackish then that's a sign it may have to be extracted at some point.
This happened to my niece at 15 months and it started discoloring and it had to be extracted when she was 4. It was harder on my sister then my niece. Didn't phase her at all.

DH is calling our dentist today - we just noticed the bruising yesterday.
