3D Sonograms...
What are everyone's thoughts on these? Are they worth it?
And if so, when did you do it in your pregnancy, and around how much do they go for?

Re: 3D Sonograms...
I thought about doing it with DS but the sono place we went to for our diagnostic sonos flipped it over to 3D for a little while each time and printed me some pictures so we opted not to do a separate elective one. But we got AMAZING AMAZING pictures. I was blown away. The one we got at 33 weeks looked exactly like my DS when he was born. But they are not always that good, my SIL did an elective one and didnt really get any great pictures.
I do think its worth it if your doctor wont do it, but many can and will for free

3D Sonograms...
Mine was done at my obgyn's office for free. Honestly, I would not pay money to have it done.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking that it might not be worth to pay extra because there's no way to be able to know what kind of images will come out of it.

I wouldn't have thought to go and pay for it , but a good friend is a sono tech so she did it for free and the pics were amazing. seeing what I saw now I'd go pay if I didn't have her. BUT I'd go somewhere that guarantees images or lets you come back bc it took my friend an hour to get a good clear shot of her face

Totally worth it...for us. I have great memories of it, great video and pictures.
We went to little 3d wonders in nesconset area. A little far from you but we loved the place. We did a package and went 3 times between 16-32 weeks (actually ended up 4 times bc dd didn't cooperate for the first gender scan).

3D Sonograms...
We loved ours, we went at 28 weeks. Our dr. said best pics are between 28-30 weeks. They cost like $125 I think and we got some great shots! I was able to see all his features and even said he had my nose lol. We will be doing them again for this DS. Our family came to that sono and had a lot of fun with it!

I went there too but to me, it wasn't worth it. The package prices vary. We got an expensive package because I wanted the images on CD. We also added on the heartbeat stuffed animal. So, we spent $200 and DD didn't cooperate. At all. We went back for our one complimentary rescan and she did not cooperate again. So for $200, we got a stuffed animal, a shot of her hoo-ha, a shot of her hands covering her face, and a shot of half her face.
She said we could've gone back for another scan but that it would be an additional $50. We obviously said no. Such a disappointment

I went to Baby Imprints for a gender determination 3d sonogram. It was totally worth it. I didn't go after that. I don't think it's worth it other than gender determination!

Re: 3D Sonograms...
I'm high risk, so they do them at my high risk doc appointments frequently just as a little bonus. I've been getting them since approx 20 weeks (I'm 28 wks now).
Had my doctor's office not done this as regular protocol, we would not have spent the money although I must admit, the images are pretty amazing to see. I can already tell he has all of DH's features, I'm just the carrier. lol.

My dr's office didn't do it. I went to Little 3D Wonders b/c they were running a special and it was under $100. I loved seeing the pictures and we got a stuffed animal w/ her heartbeat. I wouldn't have paid more than that though.
