Does your health insurance pay for 3D/4D sonograms?
Before I call my insurance company..I just wanted to know what was everyone's experience with this...
I have united healthcare/blue shield from NYS courts...

I have United Healthcare and we were told that they don't cover it.

I have united b/c b/s and it did pay for them. It depends on why you need them. I was high risk so I needed them. If you want it b/c of the cool pictures, they probably won't pay for it. I would see what my insurance paid for them and they are expensive. However, i do have the best pictures of DS!

They should if you need it for a medical necessity - not to just get one for the video or nice pictures that some people pay for.

i have blue cross/blue shield of florida and they do not cover it. Maybe there is a discount though?

I just reread your post and I have the same exact insurance with NYS courts - they definitely do pay for it b/c I had many 3D/4D sonograms, but again, I was high risk, so I don't know the policy for getting them to pay for it. It was funny b/c I assumed everyone got them until i spoke with my friends and they were telling me that they never got them.
