Stopping Progesterone
I'm 11.4 weeks (ah!!!!). Low prog is an issue for me. I blame it for my second m/c.
Last week (10.4 weeks)it was a 25, and RE lowered me to .5 cc of the progesterone in oil shot, instead of 1cc. Today, it is a 19. RE said discontinue. Come back Wed to check. I asked if I really should stop when the number decreased. The nurse (who is always a realist) said yes because the placenta is taking over.
When did you stop progesterone?? I'm paranoid

Re: Stopping Progesterone
I stopped right around that time (I was doing the suppositories). My doctor told me same thing, the placenta has already taken over.

Stopping Progesterone
I stopped at 8 weeks. At that point if the placenta isn't taking over then continuing to take progesterone could just be delaying the inevitable. I don't mean to scare you, you just need to trust that your body will take over naturally.

Re: Stopping Progesterone
I cut back to half dose at 7 weeks and then completely eliminated it at 8 weeks.
I was nervous since so many other woman stay on it for 10-12 weeks, but I trusted my RE. I also did a lot of research and current literature says it is safe to stop at 8 weeks.

Re: Stopping Progesterone
I was told to stop at 10, but I was nervous. I was using 3 Endometrin inserts daily, so I reduced it to 1 daily for weeks 10-12 instead. I stopped completely at the start of week 12.

Stopping Progesterone
I was told to stop suppositories at 10w (I was on 2 Crinone a day). I ran out at around 9w and a few days. at this point I was already under OB care and he said it was totally fine not to get more.

I'm anxious for no reason, I know :) I just don't love how it dropped after a week of half doses.

Stopping Progesterone
I stopped at exactly 12 weeks, and I begged to stop beforehand. I HATED PIO. I don't even know what my level was when I stopped. Still pregnant, at 19w2d.

Re: Stopping Progesterone
10 for the progesterone level.
If you didn't go through treatments, 10 is considered normal in pregnancy.

But I did - which is why I thought it needed to be 20 plus. I'm confused :(

Re: Stopping Progesterone
my doc always said anything 15 and above was ok. I was on crinone starting from 6w and I stayed on it close til 20w only because I was a paranoid freak and I had a lot of extra crinone left. my doc told me to stop around 14w but I took like 1 a day or every other day until I ran out. Even at 14w my prog levels kept going up and down ( which is normal throughout the day), but at 14w it was still only around a 20 or so...

Re: Stopping Progesterone
I stopped Crinone at just about 11 weeks....my progesterone started as a 7, my doctor never checked my levels again to see where they were but told me to stop at 10 weeks because the placenta would be functioning by then
