Frustration
Just had my last IUI. If this doesn't work out we are moving on to IVF, so wish me luck. But my RE doesn't seem hopeful that it will work this time.
Meanwhile, just realized we are exactly three years to the date of when we started TTC. It's my friends Anniversary and we officially started in the hotel in Boston, at their wedding.
The amount of friends I know who have had a baby, or even two, in the amount of time since we have been trying completely and totally depresses me. Including the couple whose wedding it was.
My road has been very unusual... with fibroid surgery preparation and recovery taking up 6 months of TTC time. Then sudden hearing loss coupled with vertigo killing 3 more months.
But the bottom line is, DH and I stopped protecting almost 4 years ago and decided we wanted a baby 3 years ago and here we are, still just the two of us.
Throughout everything... months of getting colonoscopys and x-rays because of stomach pains that turned out to be the fibroid (even though my OB said it wasn't from that), fibroid surgery, losing half my hearing, battling vertigo and brain zaps... I have managed to stay mostly upbeat. But when I was told we would probably have to go to IVF, it was the catalyst to send me into total depression. Trying to act happy, as more and more friends announce they are pregnant with their second children, it has become nearly impossible and I am now finding myself withdrawing from my married/parent friends.
Sorry this was long, I needed to vent and I honestly don't know where else to get it out.

So sorry you had to go through all that 
Don't be upset about going into IVF. I was so excited because it was the 1st time the Dr would be able to take out my eggs and see what was going on. I really hope you have your happy ending soon!

My mom did IVF, to get a second child, almost 30 years ago. She was one of the first, back when you had to go to VA to do it. I'm still an only child. So maybe thats why I am so apprehensive. Even though I know were a long way from 30 years ago.

I totally hear you but there has been so many advancements so don't get your hopes up. My aunt (mom's sister) had fertility issues as well and went for IVF and it didn't work- probably about 30 yrs ago as well. I don't know if I have the same exact problems but I had unexplained fertility and I'm pregnant with twins from IVF. Try to stay positive, I know it's difficult.

Thanks, I'm trying. I feel like I've just been totally shit on the last 3 years! Positivity is running out fast.

Hang in there michelle ~ things will get better and you will get there even if it takes longer - u will just stay positive! I had my iui yesterday so heres hoping that its a lucky day for us both....I know its hard to stay positive but if you do it will get better!
