Re: when do you find the time to exercise?

Before my back surgery I was managing to get on the treadmill about 3x a week for 1/2 hour and do one video at home. I do everything once they are asleep or on Saturday when dh can watch them. My youngest dd won't go to a gym daycare she screams hysterical and I just can't do that to her. I'm going to pt 3x a week right now to rebuild my leg & back strength I'm hoping to get back into a routine in another few months and maybe retry the gym daycare.

Re: when do you find the time to exercise?

At night after my son goes to sleep. Usually 8-9pm I'll go to the gym. In the summer when I'm off, I plan to try out the kids club at the gym. I'm in better shape now than before my son. I think because I consider it "me" time

I did nothing for months. Then I found Stroller Strides group. It was wonderful for me over the summer. It was a kick ass workout that I could bring DS to. I had intentions of keeping up with it when school started again, but it just hasn't happened. I'm due in Sept with my 2nd and I'm Hoping to start up again after this LO is born. Just nt sure how I will juggle it with 2. We'll see.

Re: when do you find the time to exercise?

Right now I don't. With my first it took about a year for me to be able to fit it in. Now that I have DD, I'm hoping to be able to go again when she's a year. I'd just rather spend time with my kids than go to the gym. I might feel differently if I had the equipment in my basement.

Re: when do you find the time to exercise?

I haven't been able to fit it in. I work full time. My husband works long hours 6 days a week. I also have 3 kids and the older 2 are in a lot of activities, so time is even more stretched. With my first two I ran with them in the double stroller but now with 3 I don't think I'll be able to manage that.

Re: when do you find the time to exercise?

I started with... and continue to do... jillian Michael's 30 day shred. it's a 30minute dvd. I lost 30lbs (with diet as well obv) and kept it off for a few years before I had dd... and then started again about 2 months after I had her. IMO since it's 30minutes it was super easy to do with her. sometimes she would be in her crib and i'd have the monitor, other times I would put her right next to me... either in her bouncy seat... or on her activity mat etc. as she got older it was always her playing on her activity mat next to me, and once she became mobile, I gated her in. now she's 15months and still will play with her toys in the gated area, right beside me. she's always been content with it. lost the 60lbs I gained with her plus an additional 10 and have kept it off so far. the only other exercise I do is walks with her when it's nice out - or a zumba class once a week once she's in bed for the night.

Re: when do you find the time to exercise?

I schedule the gym on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday -- Julian is at the learning center from 8:45am til 4pm (Vin picks up at 4pm after his work) and I get home a little after 5pm from my job.

We spend time with Julian, have dinner, and do his bedtime routine. Then, he goes to bed around 7pm. Then I go to the gym. I'm usually done by 8:45 and home by 9pm.

I make the most out of it by doing intense cardio - spin classes, the elliptical, and the treadmill. I do intervals on those.

Then, Tuesday and Thursday and once during the weekend I do the Tracy Anderson method DVD - they have one for beginners and they have another for post pregnancy. It's fantastic! That helps me tone and tighten up. They are cheap on amazon, easy to follow, you don't need anything but your living room, two little hand-held free weights, and sometimes a regular chair. You will be limping sore the next day it is so effective!! It's only thirty-sixty minutes too so super easy to squeeze in. HTH!

Re: when do you find the time to exercise?

I either go early in the morning before they wake up, which is a new routine for me, or late at night around 8 or 9. I decided to train for a half marathon in May so it's giving me motivation to go to the gym. I didn't get into a regular exercise routine until each DS was STTN and I wasn't BFing as much. I couldn't find the time to fit it when they were infants.
