I thought mom's were immune from getting their kids viruses
My mom friends boast that they never get their kids sicknesses. Well its 3am and I now have her stomach bug. Ugh.

They probably aren't getting sick because they are the immune carrier infecting their kid in the first place 
My kids aren't sick much but when they are it's pretty impossible not to catch it.

I think it depends. I can usually figure out if I am going to get what they get in the first place (did the vomit on me, sneeze in my face etc). I do not get everything they come home with but I am religious about washing and cleaning everything. I also am good about getting them comfortable and happy out of common areas. It doesn't always work but does at least 80% of the time. The thing is no matter what you do you will get some of it. It does not mean you are a carrier and have it to them. Remember peds see sick kids all day long and do not catch everything they have.
Also I know some moms who sleep in bed with their sick sicks etc. so it depends on your habits and personalities too in some ways. My PCP says that most parents do not catch their kids versus (when I have gone in bc my kids have strep and not feeling well) and that it rare....but I wonder if she has kids...lol.

As an adult I've gotten sick more frequently since I've had kids. Stomach bugs are the worst.

Whoever told you that moms are immune is flat out lying. I find it hard to believe they never got sick from their kids.
At least one of us always gets sick from DS. When we got the stomach bug DS gave it to me, FIL, MIL and my mom. My DH was traveling for work during most of it so he got lucky.

Same here. Usually either DH or I will get whatever DD has. It varies.
When she had Coxsackie, DH got it bad. I didn't. When she had her stomach virus, I got it but very mildly, just felt queasy.
It varies every time but I am with her most of the time. This year I have been getting much of what she has gotten.

It varies. My nephew had the stomach bug once and every one in my family caught it except for my DH. I had Fifths disease and strep last year and luckily DS caught neither.
I hope you and you DH feel better! I am so OCD about the stomach virus I feel like a borderline nut most days. And working with little kids doesn't help!

Was this person saying this in a joking manner because if not she has no idea what she is talking about. That doesn't even make sense . . . How could you just happen to be immune to any virus your child might get?
I would assume that they were just using that figuratively meaning they are lucky and don't usually catch their kids illnesses.
I've absolutely caught things from DD and I know I get exposed to tons of things at work so I "should" be immune to a lot.

My MIL always boasts she never got sick from her kids. Every time I get sick she makes it a point to boast. My kids are always on top of me, sitting on my lap, picking at my food, sneezing on my face so, I do get sick from them. I don't know what to believe

Sniffles, coughs or runny noses I usually don't catch but stomach bugs I definitely have caught from DS

I very rarely get what my kids get, but I rarely get sick overall. I think it depends on your immune system. I am pretty hearty lol
