To-do List when you go into labor

Just wondering if anyone had a list going......I feel so unprepared if I went into labor today I would be standing around scratching my head of what to do next.

So far im thinking I need to call the dr, DH if he isn't home and my mom to come watch DS. Oh and finish packing my bag. Is that it? then just head to hospital if that's what dr said to do?

And is there a thread someone can bump about what to pack for hospital. It feels like so long ago I don't remember what I need or what the hospital provides (stonybrook specifically)

Does the hospital give you blankets to swaddle the baby and do they still just use guaze or do they offer wipes now?

TIA

i never really had a to-do list
i made sure DH was around and my mom (this time ill be calling my aunt to watch DD)...and the doctor

aside from that, my hospital bag and the baby's car seat were already in my car so i didnt need anything else

as far as what to pack - ill try to bump a thread, but yes they have blankets to use for swaddling. i delivered at LIJ and they dont use wipes for the baby, just thick napkins i guess is the best way to describe them with water

eta - here are two threads on what to pack
thread 1 thread 2

my bag will consist of - cell phone/chrager, ipad/charger, gift from baby to DD, nursing tops, comfie sweat pants, socks, bras, hair brush, tooth brush, toothpaste, deodorant and coming home outfit for baby and me

To-do List when you go into labor

Hospital bag - clothes for you and anything you might need - Baby NOTHING only take home outfit.

As for when you go into labor. call you dr first and they will tell you what to do. You may have time before you have to get to the hospital.

Aside from packing there is not much to prepare. I was told to go to the hospital when my contractions are five minutes apart and are lasting for one minute for one hour unless I had any bleeding or my water breaks and the fluid is not clear. Then I have to go to the hospital ASAP. I figure when I go into labor I will call my DH if he is working to let him know as well as my sister who is my labor coach. I will also call my mom.

My bag is packed and car seat is in the car, so mine is something like this:

eat
pack up alarm clock to use to play music at the hospital
pack up the ball (our hospital is byob-bring your own birthing ball)
take special bottle of wine and put in the fridge for when we get home
call mom,
call midwife
text placenta encapsulation lady

Please make sure you eat.. I had to be induced and my dr. told me to go to the hospital when I went for my appt. when I was post due. I just had piece of toast that before I went in for my appt. and after I came from the dr. I couldn't even look at food, because of nerves. I ended up being in labor for like 2 days.. chowing down on ice chips. LOL!

My To Do List was something like this:

Call Dr
Call my dad (if DH was at work since my dad would drive me and he would call DH)
EAT
Pack up last minute items
Put out food for Avery (out cat)
Put our water for Avery
Grab bag
Turn off lights
Lock door

Yes the hospital gives receiving blankets. My hospital (LIJ NHP) gave papertowels and told me to wet them when I changed him, no wipes.
