Roomies Mark Ballas and Derek Hough's $1.3M New Home
"Dancing With the Stars" pros Mark Ballas, 27, and Derek Hough, 28, have some new digs.
The guys, who have been friends since the days when the two teamed with Derek's sister Julianne Hough to form a kiddie dance trio, purchased a house together in Studio City, California, for $1.275 million. The listing on the real estate website Redfin notes that the 3,235-square-foot residence hadn't been on the market in 30 years before it was listed in November and officially scooped up by Ballas and Hough on Jan. 27.
The four bedroom, four bath abode features hardwood floors (better than carpet for practicing those routines!), two living rooms with a shared fireplace, a large open kitchen, skylights, a spa in one bathroom, and an impressive walk-in closet that will surely make Julianne jealous. There are French doors leading to the backyard, where there's a wraparound deck and pergola. The listing notes that the house, built in 1962, is "perfect for a family or a developer looking to modernize." (Or a couple of BFFs?)

At one point, Derek's sister Julianne dated Mark. Maybe they travel a lot and are never home and this could just be an investment property which they plan to sell for a profit in couple of years. I read that Derek lived with Mark's family for several years when he was a kid..may be there are really close and are like brothers.

Julianne & Derek lived with the Ballas family & trained with Mark's parents.
Pretty sure Mark is straight-- I think they are like brothers. Some people just don't like to live alone.
It seems like a nice house--I like that is not over the top (as far as celeb houses go.)

I don't think they are together. I think this house is either an investment or a business. They could easily be using their house for dance related purposes and not actually living in there.

I don't see why they can't buy a house together. Maybe they take turns going for privacy at times, sort of like a summer house. Or maybe it was too pricey for one to buy on his own so they went half. If they are like brothers don't see the big deal.
