Dd has mucus and blood in poop
Dd will be four in a few months, for the past week she has either had normal poop, hard poop, diarrhea or formed poop with some mucus with blood. Some days she goes once, other 3 times. I had an appot with the pediatrician today, but it was rescheduled until next week (will try it get an appointment tomorrow). This blood in her stool has happened before, ibut when she was constipated and strained to go. But this time it's just different.
She is acting normal, eating normal, no fever or any other symptoms. Nothing has recently been introduced to he diet so I am CLUELESS as to what the problem is.
Anyone experience anythinng like this? I am gettng really concerned....

Blood in the stool and mucus are normally signs of a milk allergy. Ask your pedi about bringing in a sample to be tested.

Sounds to me it may be from strain when constipated, a cut or something from the hard poops that is trying to heal (I have always had lots of belly problems and have seen that !).

I'd see a pediatric GI.

Re: Dd has mucus and blood in poop
She's been drinking milk all her life (she's almost 4 years old), and never had an issue, so i doubt if its a milk allergy.
She was on antibiotics in November, December AND January.

I would try to give plenty of yogurt and probiotics while you wait to see what the doctor thinks.

It is probably from the antibiotics...Some antibiotics can cause bowel issues in a lot of kids. And it can occur weeks after taking it.. Maybe a form of C Diff.... Have a sample tested asap..

I would say its from the antibiotics then. But just as a side note, just because she has been fine with milk doesn't mean she can't develop an allergy now.
