Has anyone's child ever had a hernia?
We were at the doc yesterday and she said that DS might have a hernia. She recommended we go see a urologist and said if it is a hernia, he'd have to have surgery to correct it. I'm freaking out a little, but with a little googling it seems like this is more common than I realized. I'd love to hear some real life stories though. Has anyone gone through this? Any advice?

I quickly wanted to say that my son did- I have to get ready for work but I will FM you details late tonight if you want.
We used Pediatric Urology Assoc in Lake Success. They were great. I have 2 boys & use them all the time.

Yes my son had a hernia and we also used Pediatric Urology Associates mentioned above. We used Dr. Palmer, which I highly recommend. We had an additional issue that was fixed besides the hernia, but the hernia surgery alone, is not bad at all!

I also used PUA for a different issue. I used Dr Gitlin. Dr Palmer is great but hard to get an appt. I think Dr Gitlin is amazing and was wonderful the day of DS surgery. Very good bedside manner. Which to me was important since DS was only 11 months when he had surgery.
