I am not a fan of them, but if someone wants to use one, I don;t think it harms the child or anything. My son is a runner, but we've taught him to hold our hands, and we put him in a stroller or cart. At WDW, he held our hand or we let him run around in not so busy areas, when he wasn't in the stroller. I found that if we let him run around when he can, he is more willing to be in the stroller.

Never bee to Disney with my two kids yet but I have never found the need so far. I use a thing call an umbrella stroller in places like Roosevelt Field. With that in mind, I kind of shy away from those things.
