Garden Wing at the Contemporary

The room here look so nice but are much cheaper than other deluxe rooms and I am wondering why.

I read that it's a long walk to the monorail. How long are we talking about? It is at least mostly indoors? Is it enough of a hassle to make you not want to return?

Other thoughts on this resort? I know there is a lack of theming but I don't care about that.

Re: Garden Wing at the Contemporary

I have stayed in the Garden Wing rooms. The walk isn't too bad, but it's a walk. It's outdoors but there is a covering for part of it.
We walked to the Magic Kingdom every day, didn't bother with the monorail on the way there if the weather was nice.
It depends on the ages and mobility of everyone going in my opinion.

I think it's a great value for a monorail resort within walking distance to the Magic Kingdom. With that said, it does feel a bit dated and dark in that section of the resort. My only complaint was the lack of theme and since you've already said that doesn't bother you, it could be a great fit.

I'd love to help answer any other questions you may have and help you find the best deal. Contact me if you'd like more information. My services are free.

The walk isn't bad. Most of it is outdoors but there is a covered walkway. You will need to walk to the main part of the contemporary for all of your services (front desk, shopping, dining, transportation, etc.) It's not an awful walk though.

Re: Garden Wing at the Contemporary

Stayed in it in 1989. My family hated it, it was far to the lobby. Hated it so much that I only stayed in the tower for the rest of my contemporary visits.
