? for those who have baby on Zantac
I have to give it to DS twice per day. I usually give it as soon as he wakes up, but then he eats like 15 mins later.
Do you also do this first thing in the morning?
When do you give the second dose?
I was doing it a half hour before his last bottle for the day, but was thinking this was useless bc he is sleeping most of that time.
Yesterday late afternoon he was in pain and I could tell it was the heartburn. Hoping to ease his pain at this time of day.

we have always mixed it with her first and last bottles! but, we never (up until recently) had a problem with her NOT finishing bottles.
ETA - just get into a routine. It takes a week or so to build up in their system to calm things down and the same takes some time to be out of their systems. Don't worry too much about what time he gets it, just have a set time and keep it that way. Its not the type of thing that provides immediate relief like Tylenol - more maintenance which prevents the reflux.

My friend advised us to give it before bottles so it neutralizes the acid first.

Thanks -- im going to ask doc about putting it in the bottle. He hates the taste so this would make life easier!

Lately I've been doing this. DS just hates the taste of the Zantac, when I give it to him by itself, makes a face & spits it out.

I mix the Zantac with gripe water and give it to DS thirty minutes before his first and last bottles. He sucks it right from the syringe! Without the gripe water, he would spit it right out. My ped said not to put it in his bottle.

i always put the dose in his bottle. my son used to get it 3 times a day. 1st dose was in morning bottle, 2nd was in an early afternoon bottle & last dose was in nighttime bottle
