I don't think they should be giving you a hard time. your kids are so well behaved and they will actually go to bed... I envy that. I would drag logan out because he doesn't sleep... but your kids do so I would prob want to stay home if I were you. Especially siince you invited friends of yours.

You are not being unreasonable. I don't even get BIL's reason for wanting to go to IL's house on NYE (Tuesday)- it's because he has to go to work 2 days later on Thursday? Whaaat?! Keep your plans, have your friends over and then go to your IL's on New Year's Day as planned.

You are not being unreasonable at all. Your BIL doesn't have kids so he doesn't get it. Just stay home and enjoy your time with the other couple.

I would have just done NYE at your house w/the couple then seen your family on NYD. BIL would have had to survive not seeing you NYE. Hope it all ended up ok!
