No but for $30+ per lesson you'd like him to learn some basic skills like kicking, paddling, coming up for air.
It's not 30 a class. I paid 79 for 8 weeks
That's a special for mommy and me- but after you do that class, the real lessons are $30 a class.
I just paid 59 dollars for 6 1v1 lessons... I got a great deal from them

We went to Bellmore for over 2 years and DS had a great experience overall. I will say that so much of your experience with them depends on the instructor. We got lucky with the first instructor and when I knew he was leaving, I scoped out the others to figure out who I wanted. I chose one because she was really good with the kids, focused on them and not chatty with the other instructors. DS had her for about 2 years. We stopped going because she was leaving and after that amount of time, I think he got about all he was going to get out of the classes there.
I think they are doing a special now that is one session at a discounted price. If you wanted to try them out, it might be a good time to do it, since it's discounted.

Agreed for for the most part, although it did make me somewhat more comfortable bringing her in the water.

We take my daughter to the safety swim in oceanside. She loves it and I can tell she is learning. I would agree that the experience depends on the instructor. We use Battina. She is excellent.

It totally depends on your instructor and day of week. I did saf t swim in westbury during the week. There were maybe 2 or 3 other moms which was nice. However, we started with an instructor who was fantastic but she went back to Oceanside during the session. With her my son loves it but then we got a new instructor and she was much to be desired! After her my son hated swim lessons so we are taking a few months off.

I've been taking my son to East Meadow since begining of the summer and we love it. Have no complaints so far!

Why do you say that?
For those that wouldn't do Saf t swim what else would you suggest? We didn't make it into the classes at Eisenhower Park for this session, we'll try for the next one. We have a pool and I want DS to be use to the water by the summer.
Honestly if you have a pool, I'd hire a private instructor to come to your pool. Those Saf T Swim places skeeve me out. I plan to look into private lessons at home this summer

I've been going to bell more since my oldest was 3, almost 4. My younger one goes now too.
I cannot tell you how far they've come since starting. Not one bad experience. I do have an issue with the instructors chatting, but I see past it unless its directly affecting my kids.

Which one? I was thinking about Commack.
I had a terrible experience there. If nothing else it was just a waste of money. But there were also other issues.

I am far out East, so I don't go to any locations that have been mentioned but I wanted to give my 2 cents about our Saf T Swim experience.
We have been bringing DD since March (she was 2), we signed up for a promotional package where the first 6 sessions were $149. I asked friends for suggestions on instructors and we went with someone that was recommended to her. DD has had an incredible experience. She swims underwater by herself now, can pull herself out of the pool if she gets dropped in, can climb a ladder, jump in and then scale the side and roll over to her back to float.
When I am watching DD, I do see instructors that couldn't care less about what they are doing, I do see kids who are miserable and aren't getting much from the lessons, but for us, it has been a great success.
We signed up for the biggest package they had, which is over a year, each class works out to $28.
I rave about Saf T Swim in my area and highly recommend our instructor, if I were you...I'd give it a shot! You may have a bad experience, but you may have an awesome one!
