Avoid all eye contact; stare at your phone

So, I'm sitting here, waiting for monitoring in a packed waiting room. I'm watching everyone sitting here, angry faces, no talking, just blank stares.

I suppose it varies by cycle because during my 2nd cycle, I made 2 waiting room buddies. Last time and this time, everyone just looks miserable and unfriendly. We're all going through the same thing, coming to the same place with the same goal in mind. It is just so interesting to watch everyone put up these figurative 'don't talk to me' signs.

So, here I sit, posting where the room is always full of chatty support.

I am always the one playing with the kids that people bring. I rather hang with the little people than be grouchy. I tried talking to one lady and she went on and on about her multiple losses and how they are testing the fetus now and it all made me sad and uncomfortable. I don't know if I could be that open with strangers but maybe it was therapeutic for her. In any case, I avoid convo now lol

I was at NYU center and no one ever in my almost 2 yrs there spoke to other waiting ladies in the lobby. As the monitoring is so damn early and u haven't eaten, had ur coffee and most likely had to get up at un-Godly hr to get there little chance of feeling chatty for anybody.
And even when its not monitoring I felt 0 desire to talk to others (could be also my personal hate of small talking to strangers). I am there for a purpose and want to get in and get out. Plus can use the waiting time to catch up on emails/news.

I actually liked talking to others. Made me feel like I had support of someone who gets it. I still keep in touch with one of the women I met. She now has twins and I have dd. we even got each other gifts.

Babydreams21 and I met at Dr Z's office but we rarely talked to each other. I was on my way in while she was on her way out.

I have one waiting room frIend that isn't on LIF.

I'm not a morning person to begin with so I'm one of those that keeps to herself an reads or is on phone.
