fever on & off- advice
My DS has been battling a fever since Monday evening. He got a flu shot earlier that day at a well visit but the ped said that his fever is most likely not related to that... anyway so I have been alternating motrin/tylenol per the ped, and it seems like the fever keeps coming back after the medicine wears off (he woke up this morning again with temp of 102.5). This is my first time dealing with him being sick like this, so just wanted to see from anyone whose BTDT, Is there anything else I should be doing or is it one of those "wait it out" type of things?

I would just keep up with the meds and wait it out. It's less than 48 hours so that's not too long. Is the fever his only symptom? Maybe some kind of virus that he just needs to ride out.

Hailey had 102.6 last week and we took her to the ped on Friday and it was an ear infection... same as you it kept coming back after meds.

If the fever gets any higher or doesn't go away after another day, take him back to the Dr. My DD had this a couple of weeks ago, the fever kept coming back each time the tylenol/motrin wore off. At first her Dr said it was probably a virus but by the end of the second day with a fever, when it got up to almost 104, I said there's no way this is just a virus. We took her in and it was a double ear infection.

Re: fever on & off- advice
If the fever is related to the flu it could take a few days to go away. Just keep giving him meds and monitoring the temp, and it'll get better.
