Baby Shoes: First Walking Shoes Help!
I recently took DD to the mall and had her foot measured. She is a size 1. (DD is 9½ months) I was told by Stride Rite and Clark's that their first walker shoes start at either size 2 or 2½ Does anyone know where I can buy shoes for my DD's super small tootsies???
She's beginning to walk all over the place and i'd like to get her a better pair of shoes than the pre-walkers she is in.

I just read an artlicle about not using shoes until they're doing outdoor walking. If I can find the article, I'll post the link.

Its best to not put her in shoes unless she is full-time walking around outside. In the house, its best to leave her barefoot.

would socks hurt? i mean besides making it more slippery for her, but i have the socks with the rubbery dots underneath for extra grip. Our floors are really cold now and I can't let her walk with no socks on

DS started walking at 10 months old - he was barefoot until his 1st birthday - if not a bit longer.
He started walking in the summer months - so we let him go barefoot. No recommendation for socks, but I would make sure they have good grips on them.

Socks are fine. I would limit shoes to if she's walking outside or in some other public place. I would check out BRU for size 1s.

I really liked Nike sensory motion shoes. Very soft and flexible.

Hailey has small feet too, we never put shoes on her... but she wants to stand all the time. So we just got socks with the rubber grip things on the bottom.

I would look into something like a pedi-ped. DS 2 needed to wear some sort of shoe when he was cruising as well - and our floors are slippery since they are hardwood (and it was winter).

Re: Baby Shoes: First Walking Shoes Help!
I know! she had no interest in learning how to crawl but ever since she was an infant, like 2-3 months old, she would always want to stand so last month she started walking with help and now she's wobbly but she's all over the place!

Re: Baby Shoes: First Walking Shoes Help!
DS walked at 9.5 months also and I just always had him in robeez. I found that the socks even with the little grippy on the bottom didn't provide enough grip. Once warmer weather came I got him sneakers at stride rite outlet. DD is now almost 8 months and starting to move onto cruising and I find she slips with socks on so she's been wearing robeez.
