First pair of "real" walking shoes
So I took DS to Stride Rite today, had is little feet measured, and he was a 5 1/2 extra wide...the shoes were $60...
My question is this...when did you purchase these for your DC? He is almost 9 month, and cruising for a while now, he also will just stand up on his own without puling up on something...
Just not sure if it is too early...they said he would wear these for at least 3 months before he outgrew them, but he should be in them now...not sure if they were just trying to make the sale though

Re: First pair of "real" walking shoes
My ped has us buy them when my DDs' were really cruising regularly. They would wear bare feet or socks or shoes like robeez in the house - but I used the real shoes for when we went out - esp to places like the playground etc or anywhere where they might be cruising.
Definitely go to the real store or a place like Nordstroms and get properly measured - but hold off and buy the shoes at the stride rite outlet you will save a LOT of money.
If he isn't actually walking yet you can go with something like a robeez - soft soles are important when they are learning - you want want their feet covered outside so they don't get hurt.

I bought them at 10 months, but got them on sale for like $25. If you don't see any on sale, try shopping online once you know the size.
