Breast pumps and NSLIJ
I called my insurance provider yesterday to learn if breast pumps are covered. They said that the Affordable Care Act is making breast pumps covered by insurance.
However, to be applicable, I need to get the pump from the hospital AFTER the baby is born.
Has anyone done this? Does anyone know what pumps NSLIJ provides? or a number i can call to learn more?
The insurance company also said it didnt matter if i rented or bought, that it was all covered.... i am just not sure if i believe them.
any feedback from the BTDT group or those more familiar with these details would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

NSLIJ new hyde park has a hospital grade madela pump - but i believe its only to rent
personally, i would buy one instead of renting since its free and will last you through more than one child.

I rented one from LIJ - they gave it to me while I was still in the hospital. You can buy one through them. Ask for the lactation specialist
