Do they say anything to get you upset or the opposite of anything you say?

My 4 year old is happy for the most part, but he gets moody on and off throughout the day. Some days more than others. If I say today is Monday he will say "No, it's Thursday."
He'll get upset if DH goes to work earlier and I'll tell him he'll be home later so he says... "No, he'll be home tomorrow."
I talk to him about fibbing and how it's not nice. I ignore some of the comments he says that he and I both know aren't right. Just will say anything opposite I say.

I know how to handle it and he will calm down when we speak, but it's throughout the day. If he doesn't like what he hears he will give me a total wrong comment that makes no sense.
