Moody when he wakes up... Ugh!
My almost 4 yr old for some reason always is a little grumpy when he gets up. He needs his time to snap out of it. I know it's normal and lots of people need their time to get up. Just annoying bc it's almost every morning. He no longer naps, but when he did he would need some time to get out of his mood. Now he goes to sleep earlier and even with plenty of sleep he can be a grump. Usually after a bit he's fine and perfectly happy. Just funny bc he's always been like that. Even as a baby. DS 2 is 20 months and always wakes happy and with a smile. I the morning and after naps. Such a difference. Thank goodness it's only one grump.
After DS 1 is happy he's fine and once in a while he's in a good mood. Usually with a good distraction or something. Just wondering if anyone else has this with their LO.
I'm real good when I get up, but DH takes a while too. So, I know where he gets it.

Re: Moody when he wakes up... Ugh!
DD is 2.5 and she needs 10 minutes after she wakes up to become human.
I am 31, and I am that way also. I hate it, but DH knows not to have a convo with me right after I wake up, I am a zombie. Doesn't matter how much, or little, I slept.

My DS needs a few minutes to fully wake up. He's nto grumpy just kind of out of it for a little bit.
This mornign we had lots of pee....all over the crib, sheets, blankie. His diaper got unhooked and it was like he didn't have one on. So instead of his normal routine of going from crib to a bit of cuddlign with me he went from crib to the shower where daddy already was.....and he was not a happy camper. By the time he left for daycare he was happy again.
He is def a routine kid when it comes to his mornings.

Re: Moody when he wakes up... Ugh!
My 3 year old was like that for the first 2.5 years of her life in the mornings. Occasionally, she'd be happy when she woke up but mostly grumpy for a bit. She's grown out of that. And now she is just grumpy when she wakes up from her nap. She's pretty beastly actually and I dread that time of the day when i'm home with her. You're not alone!
