Spinoff to teething
Do you give your lil one Tylenol to help with the irritability while teething?
I'm not quick to give Tylenol but I gave it to DS before bed tonight bc he just seemed so irritable today, so not like him and he barely slept today bc I think he was uncomfortable. He's only 3 1/2 months but I can feel the teeth on his gums and they are all swollen.

DS is almost 2 and has all but 2 yr molars. I think I have only given Tylenol 3x

This was my day today and dd is 3 1/2 months. I didn't give Tylenol tho but she was super fussy all day today and barely slept.

I do give Tylenol or Motrin before bed if DD seems especially irritable or uncomfortable from teething. I don't give it during the day.

I give DS Tylenol when his teeth are bothering him. The days his tooth was breaking through he would barely eat or open his mouth and cried all day. I didn't think twice giving him Tylenol a few times a day. Why make him suffer?

When I can tell he is really in pain from it, I do. I have done this a few times.... once or twice each time a pair of teeth have been cutting/just about to cut (3 pair so far). He is 7.5 months and the first time was at 4 months.

Same here. Occasionally I will give it during the day though if he seems extremely uncomfortable (like right before it pops through).

While they were teething I gave either tylenol or motrin before bed and then again when they woke up if it was during the time frame.
No sense in them being in pain.

All the time. I can tell when she is in pain, and IMO there is no reason for her to be uncomfortable if we can give her a little tylenol. She had a bad week and we gave it to her a few times a day - the bottom two teeth just broke through. It has to be so painful for them - my DD is such a good girl that if she is fussing I know she is in a lot of pain. I want to minimize the suffering, and the medicine relaxes her and lets her get some rest.

Absolutely! I can tell the days she needs it. If she isn't too fussy, just putting her hands in her mouth a lot, no fever and pretty much ok then I don't give Tylenol. But if she is having the type of day where she isn't herself and doesn't really want me to put her down, then I give it to her. That is totally out of character for her. When her tooth breaks through, I also give it before bed. Why make her suffer? Different babies react differently to teething though so you really can't base your decision on other people's past choices because your child could be having a much easier/tougher time of it. Yes when things het really bad! But for a baby that young I really reccommend waterproof teething mittens. Gives them a fabric buffer when chewing their hands.
