Lately Jake has been fussing quite a bit while taking his bottle. He doesn't cry but he arches his back dramatically, kicks like crazy, and bounces his butt up and down. And he's always trying to sit up while eating.

It's almost like he's distracted and just wants to play but I'm not sure. Usually he does not push the bottle out. Sometimes (and by this point I know he's done) he just munches on the nipple. DH thinks it just means he's had enough since he eats solids before the bottle. But sometimes he's doing this when he's only 2oz into a 6oz bottle.

I don't think it's acid reflux (but I could be wrong) because he really doesn't spit up alot.

I have heard that teething can cause loss of appetite and the nipple munching definitely looks like teething. I've also heard teething can make it painful for them to take a bottle. So could this all be attributed to teething?

He's going to the ped soon so I will ask his Dr. but I just wanted to get some opinions here too and see if other babies who don't have AR do this as a symptom of teething.

Are there different level nipples for you bottles? I am not familiar with Dr Brown's. I know Kevin at times would act like you described - as if he was bored or distracted with his bottle and fight it. Usually changing to a faster nipple helped out. Sometimes, it was just a few day things and he woul dbe back to normal - just a phase I guess.
