Teething?!?!
How would I know when dd starts teething? She drools a lot and is super fussy today. She's only 3 1/2 months and I know that's early.
When did your los start to teeth? How young and how did you know that's what it was?

Hailey started drooling around then too. She also found her hands and started chewing on them around then. She got her first teeth right before 6mos.

Re: Teething?!?!
DS teeting pretty bad by 10 week... first tooth cut through just a week or so after he turned 4 months. He is 7.5 months and now 6 have cut!
i knew from the chewing on fist, drool, excessive spitting up. the week before the firs ones cut he had a fever and screamed for a full day. Second 2, he was irritable and would randomly scream and you could tell him was in pain. and he would not eat unless he got to the point where he was starving pretty much These last 2, I really didn't notice much, maybe a little cranky at random times..... when i found them I was shocked and realized he had been just a little cranky!

Teething?!?!
This is exactly what she's doing. She is sucking on her thumb and fist so hard, drooling, super fussy and really normally isn't. I felt her gums and they feel hard. She even started spitting up a couple times and never really did in 3.5 months.
Edit...and her appetite is less. She's drinking less than normal and she normally is a big eater. It's also a crazy long wonder week (it's a 4 week leap...ugh)

Same with both of my boys (although DS 1 got his first tooth closer to 7 months).

Re: Teething?!?!
My second DD (now 8 months) started teething at 2 months and got her first two teeth at 5 months. She is teething again and has a top one coming in. My daughter always gets congested, nose runs like a faucet, drools a lot, and has many bowel movements that are a bit runny.

This. It might not be teething and more just everything in the mouth is making more drool.

Yes, DD started that at 3 months too- and hands in the mouth- but didn't get a tooth until after 1 year old. The ped said at around 3 months their salivary glands develop more- hence the drooling. And they also start to discover their hands and the best way to explore them is with their mouth- hence the hands in the mouth.

Re: Teething?!?!
DS started drooling a lot around 3 months. Then it got much better a few months later. He cut his first took at 8 months and started drooling a lot again a few days before the tooth popped up.
Teething starts around 3 months, regardless of when a tooth pops through. Their teeth are constantly moving under the gums all the time!

Re: Teething?!?!
So hard to know. DD and DS both started drooling around 3 months. DS didn't get a tooth until almost 7 months, but DD just got a tooth right before she turned 5 months. The doc said that was on the early side.

Re: Teething?!?!
DD started drooling and eating her hands at 2 months old. She would go through 5-7 bibs a day and they were just full of drool!!! Cut her first tooth around 5.5 or 6 months and has 8 at 1 yr old! Her drooling calmed down a bit at 8 months.
