Is it REALLY necessary
I use Dreft because I love the smell.
Regular Dawn dish soap for all bottles.

Is it REALLY necessary
I only used dreft for the first 6 mons or so and only because people bought it for me.
After that I just used what I use for all our clothes.

Is it REALLY necessary
I used Dreft in the beginning. I bought one container that lasted a while and someone gave me another. After that, I switched to All Free and Clear which I've always used.
I never even considered a different dish soap. I don't use antibacterial bc I try to avoid any of that going down our drains.

Re: Is it REALLY necessary
I used dreft for a few months with the first b/c I didn't know any better, and LOVED the smell After I had to do the same load of laundry 3x b/c if obviously was incapable of CLEANING anything....I switched to anything "Free & Clear"
With the second, I used the dreft for his initial newborn stuff, only for that delicious baby smell - and then put his stuff in w/ everyone else's
The only thing I really keep separate is the clothes DH and I wear if we're gardening, or working w/ some kind of chemical or fertilizer

Re: Is it REALLY necessary
My issue with Dreft and other "Baby" detergents is that they both have dyes and perfumes in them. So how are they any different than normal Tide or All? They smell nice, yeah, but if your baby has sensitive skin that will be irritated by dyes and perfumes then they defeat the purpose. I just used All Free and Clear- or whatever free and clear was on sale- for the first year or so.

Re: Is it REALLY necessary
No it's not necessary but the smell of Dreft is amazing! I used it with DD1 for about 6 months and am using it again with DD2. I just love how her clothes smell after i do her laundry with Dreft. I'm only going to use the 1 bottle that I got so i'm thinking it'll last me another few months (she's 3 months now).

Is it REALLY necessary
I have no idea if it's necessary or not, honestly.... sheesh I just realized that I never saw any medical or scientific evidence that says you shouldn't use regular soaps. Anyway, I use 7th Generation dish and laundry soap and the spray to clean their high chairs and toys. I guess I felt it was "safer"
