Question about crib toys

I bought DD the Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother. It seems really cute. It plays music and has lights that illuminate the little "under the sea" scene. I'm just not sure when exactly I would use it. Do you use yours when the child is going to sleep? When they wake up early in the morning or early from a nap? For play time? TIA!

I have the exact same thing! I play it while we give her the nighttime bottle and use the remote to keep it going until she goes in her crib. A sleep expert actually told us to stop using it bc now she is more aware of it and stays up to watch it. She said nothing with lights. Now we just use a white noise machine and dd slept great last night.

i have a mobile that projects a picture. I start it for some light in the room, to give her bottle and play music. It's usually still on when she goes int he crib. If she happens to be awake she will watch it for a few mins then doze off.
If she wakes in the middle of the night, i have the option to turn off the light but music plays and the mobile turns. She will watch it until she falls asleep again.Soemtimes If I'm upstairs and need the bathroom to finish getting ready, I will put her in her crib to play and put it on for her to watch

We use it when putting DS down for naps. He stopped being interested in his mobile a few months ago, but likes the soother.

I used it for bedtime and naps but recently he's been staying up late playing with it so it might be time to turn off the light or music at night.
