Toys in crib question

Do you put any toys in your baby's crib? My granddaughter will be 8 mos old this week and is now sitting herself from laying on her belly. My daughter is thinking of putting a toy or two in there so when she wakes up in the morning she has something to play with. She has the seahorse that plays music and lots of other soft things but she hasn't put anything in the crib yet.. Any suggestions? I know they're not supposed to have blankets, pillows ,etc.

I was nuerotic and never had anything in the crib. and DD was in her crib til almost 3. LOL. But I know a lot of the ladies here have out pillows, blankets and tons of stuffed animals in the crib. As I said..i was a bit paranoid.Chat Icon

I put a small stuffed bunny in DD's crib. It's too big for her to choke on, but small enough that she can hold it.

My boys have a bunch of toys in their cribs. Blankets, blocks, bunnies-----they serve as distractions to calm them down and they go to sleep!

DD just turned one and a put a small stuffed animal in her crib a few weeks ago. I am also trying to trick her into liking the stuffed animal so it can eventually replace the pacifier Chat Icon But she now holds on to both with a death gripChat Icon Chat Icon

At 8 months old I didn't really have anything in there with DD other than her lovey (a baby blankie) but by a year old she had some stuffed animals, board books, toys, etc.

My DS has a few stuffed animals and those little blankets with bear heads on them in his crib. He also sleeps with his FP Glo Seahorse. I have no issue with putting anything in with him b/c he will wake up in the morning or from a nap and play for a bit. I love listening to him "chat" with his "guys".

We had the crib toys that attach to the rails for DS. At 20 months they are still in there. When he was able to sit himself up in the crib, he learned really fast how to press the buttons and turn them on himself.. Aside from them, he has a stuffed dog and his blankeys in there.
