Birthday Traditions

Do you have a bday tradition you do for each family member on their bday?

Just with my boys I started getting a balloon and we go into the birthday boy's room with the balloon and sing "Happy Birthday."
Nothing crazy, but cute and gets the kids excited. DH had the boys sing to me when I came downstairs on my bday, which was cute.

Just thinking of cute ideas to add. We didn't growing up. I know we just go out to a restaurant with family of our choice. Now my family is big, but we still all try and be there. Not always on our bday, but the weekend around it.
I have seen friends fill the downstairs with balloons. I can't imagine. Also depends on when the bday lands. During the week is tough to do a big bday breakfast.

I put up a handmade banner every year and decorate the dining room the night before with signs and small decorations.

The birthday boy or girl chooses their bday dinner and cake.

They also get to sit at the head of the table, if they want!
